STEM Carib 2012 conference competition winners

One of the aims of The STEM Carib Conference 2012 was to engage children in science, technology, engineering and math.

One way they engaged the younger members of the community was by a colouring contest for primary students and a “Name the Telescope Contest”, (the UCCI Observatory telescope).

The winners were announced at the opening ceremony on Wednesday, 17 October. The winners were Ella Powery, 5, from North Side Primary school, who won the naming competition and Madeleine Cronier, 11, from St. Igantius, who won the colouring competition.

The winning name was Pixie Twinkle and both girls received their own telescopes as prizes.
