Headlining the evening is Canadian whirlwind Rachel Sehl, whose adventures behind the decks include stints at world dance capital Ibiza and plenty of appearances worldwide including our house-friendly neighbours in Miami.
“I have done a lot of boat parties and I will be playing vocal, uplifting, progressive house,” said the DJ.
“Big Room progressive house and electro. Some of my favourite artists are Avici, Alesso – anyone Swedish that starts with an A!
“Also Tiesto, Swedish House Mafia and the big names people will know.”
She added that she is a ‘people’s DJ’ who will play the songs people want to listen to, to keep the party vibe going.
“I feel that’s more important than to educate with underground stuff sometimes. I read a crowd and give them what they want for the most part.
“When you really connect with the crowd and find that sweet spot it’s euphoric – for a DJ it is like heaven,” said the woman behind the worldwide clubbing brand, Sunglasses At Night.
“When people put sunglasses on it gives them a bit of freedom to be who they want to be; it’s almost like a mask and people can let go, feel the music and have fun.”
Music plays from the start of happy hour at 3.45pm, explained Luigi Moxam of The Cabana, who added that there was no cover charge.
