Breeze fun run blew along again for two worthy causes

Radio Cayman’s Breeze 105.3FM, did its part to help residents in becoming more physically active while making philanthropic contributions to both the NCVO and Rotaract Blue with its sixth annual Breeze Fusion Walk/Run.

The event was on 3 November and around 150 participants turned out for the two mile fun run, beating the previous year’s attendance.

Radio Cayman Deputy Director Paulette Conolly-Bailey said: “105.3 Breeze FM and its sister station 89.9 Radio Cayman were proud to come together along with a host of fantastic sponsors to organise such a great event. It is always great that we are able to have person to person interaction with our listeners, but it’s really special to be able to give back to our community.”

The response from Breeze’s corporate and retail partners was tremendous as 20 sponsors joined the initiative. Sponsors for the event included Maedac Supply (the providers of Wata), Lime, La Dolce Vita, Cayman National, Winner’s Circle and the Roma United Sports Club.

To add to the excitement, runners and walkers alike were treated to sectional and age category prizes, from Black Beard’s Rum Cake, Cellular World, Dairy Queen, Edie’s Décor, Funky Tang’s Godfrey’s, International Lighting, King’s Sports Centre, Kirk Freeport, Le Classique, Lee’s Office Products, Miracle Brokers, Reflections and Young World Fashions.

The race with its new route produced winners in a multitude of categories. The Overall Male and Female Run winners were Dominic Corbin and Leslie Ann Bailey with times of 10 minutes 23 seconds and 13:18 respectively. The winner for the walk category for men was Owen Bailey and Marcella Uncy for females.
