The Cayman Islands General Registry is now located on the ground floor of the government administration building on Elgin Avenue in George Town, after moving earlier this month.
There are 44 people in the office of the General Registry, who maintain the General Registry for Companies, Partnerships, Trusts, Birth, Deaths, Marriages, Public Records, Patents, Trademarks, Friendly Societies, Building Societies and Trade Unions. Additionally, the office of the General Registry provides services to the public and clients relating to these registries, as well as policy advice and services to support the Ministry of Finance, Tourism and Development and Cabinet.
Previously, the General Registry was located at Citrus Grove.
“The move to the GAB will result in significant savings.
In addition, the Registry counter will be located in the same areas as the Trade and Business Licensing Unit, enabling all company service transactions to be completed in one location,” said Thais Ducent, executive assistant in the marketing and communications unit at the Ministry of Finance.
