One thing you can’t say at this time of year is that there is nothing going on. There’s parties aplenty, for all sorts of different reasons.
There’s the potential End of the World, of course, today, and if that doesn’t happen, there’s Christmas to look forward to, followed by New Year’s.
It’s also the 10th birthday of Cayman’s favourite lounge bar, the Office, today and they are inviting you to come celebrate with them. There’s a special treat in store for the occasion, in the form of Lima Calbio – a reggae and soca artist who has bewitched revellers around the world for two decades.
Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, Lima has been a presence on the music scene in the Caribbean since the 1990s, when she joined Byron Lee and the Dragoniers. She’s performed at carnivals throughout the Caribbean and as far away as the Seychelles. Tonight, she’s back in central George Town, by popular demand. It’s going to be nonstop soca hits that everyone knows and loves, all night long.
There’s no cover charge and an extension until 2am, but space is limited so get there early.
The party starts at 5pm and there will be plenty more from guest DJs D Docta, DJ Dom(U)neek, DJ Big Lex and DJ Silver Fox to keep the party going.
Sponsored by Heineken and Appleton there’s bound to be some drinks specials, too.
