Tis the season to get glowy and celebrate

Once the fat man’s emptied his bulging sack and we’ve all gotten more than our fill of turkey (do you prefer breast or leg?) then you’d be forgiven for thinking that the party’s over.

But we would soon withdraw that forgiveness as you would be thinking wrong. One of the biggest bashes of the year takes place on Wednesday, 26 December, which as any yule fule kno is Boxing Day.

And to tell us all about it, why, it’s only DJ Lin isn’t it? Cor blimey.
“Seasons is Cayman’s Official Snow and Glow Party,” he says, capitalising as he goes along.

“We’ve got snow machines and glow machines – wear white and you will glow. If you’re in white you can go into our $1,000 balloon drop which we’ll be doing around 1am.”

Important to note, Weekender feels, that everything white will glow. Teeth, shirts, bras. Just so you know. Anyway it’s all good clean fun for the Margaritaville-based beano.

Tickets are $10 pre-sold or if you prefer a bottle service and getting treated well good and smart and that you can shell out $25 for VIP treatment. Best of all, though, you can get $5 off the ticket price by participating in a worthy cause.

“We are participating in the Rotaract Toy Drive,” continues DJ Lin.

“Donate a toy when you buy a ticket in advance at Margaritaville and you get $5 off entry price. The toys go to needy children.”

This is the fourth annual event and if last year was anything to go by, a crowd of between 600 and 800 should be in attendance.

“People look to have a good time. This is a premium event,” explains the DJ.

“Get rid of that holiday and shopping stress and give yourself a break after Christmas.”

As well as DJ Lin, DJ Xrey, DJ Royal and Selecta Renegade will be spinning the tunes.

“It’s anything that moves you – expect Hip Hop, reggae, dance and more,” concludes Lin.

Ladies can get in free until 11pm. Tickets at the gate will be $15, so pre-purchasing is much recommended.
