Be safe, take bus on New Year’s

The Cayman Islands National Drug Council’s “Purple Ribbon” bus will ride again this New Year’s Eve.

For more than 10 years, the council has partnered with local businesses and restaurants to coordinate the Designated Driver Programme and the New Year’s Eve Purple Ribbon Bus service.

With support from Cayman National Bank, Greenlight Re and Jacques Scott Group Ltd., party-goers will again be able to utilise the free Purple Ribbon bus service on Monday night and early Tuesday morning.

“We are thrilled to partner with these sponsors in an effort to make our community safer,” said Joan West-Dacres, executive director of the drug council. “It’s more than just a free ride, it saves lives”.

Reid’s Premier Tours buses will run 30-minute scheduled routes throughout Grand Cayman from West Bay to Bodden Town, with hourly buses to North Side and East End, on New Year’s Eve starting from 9pm Monday and going to 4am Tuesday.
