Weapons arrest made downtown

Royal Cayman Islands Police Service officers arrested a 25-year-old man Monday in the vicinity of First Caribbean Bank in George Town.

Police said the man was arrested by officers from the Uniform Support Group [armed police unit] on suspicion of threatening violence, possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of a weapon.

Police said a knife was recovered on the suspect following a search. He was kept in custody Monday for questioning.
