Camana Bay will play host to Ultimate Dinner Party

Cayman’s status as one of the best culinary destinations in the region is a strong one. 

That’s down to the quality of the restaurants and the chefs that the islands can boast. 

Camana Bay, of course, is home to some of Grand Cayman’s newest and most feted eateries, some of which are showing off exactly what they can do with a special Cayman Cookout event titled, “The Ultimate Dinner Party”. 

It takes place at Camana Bay from 7pm on Saturday, 19 January. 

Camana Bay tells us that this star-studded night features “a host of unique experiences in one unforgettable evening”. Festivities begin with a waterfront book signing on The Harbour with visiting chefs Anthony Bourdain, Jose Andres and Daniel Humm, who will join Camana Bay’s own James Beard award-winning chef Michael Schwartz and his executive pastry chef, Hedy Goldsmith.  

The party continues with dinner at one of Camana Bay’s restaurants – Abacus, Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink or Ortanique. 


The Ultimate Dinner Party at Abacus 

Ron Jacobson, executive chef of Abacus, proudly welcomes fellow Canadian, Top Chef Canada Winner and Gordon Ramsay protégé Dale MacKay. Together they will bring you a playful Caribbean-inspired menu featuring signature creations.  

Blending local produce with their favourite flavours and signature culinary flair, experience the true meaning of contemporary island style. Each course will be paired with a wine selection from Food & Wine magazine’s executive wine editor Ray Isle. 


Genuine Manresa at Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink 

Join James Beard award-winning chef Michael Schwartz and his executive pastry chef, Hedy Goldsmith, as well as executive chef Thomas Tennant’s team at Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink as they welcome into the kitchen guest chef David Kinch (Manresa Restaurant). This memorable dinner will draw inspiration from Kinch’s home in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains, bringing Grand Cayman’s seasonal bounty to life.  

Enjoy wine pairings by Michael’s Genuine wine director Eric Larkee and dessert from Hedy Goldsmith. 


The Ultimate Dinner Party at Ortanique 

Ortanique and owner Delius Shirley invite you to dine island style. Enjoy a memorable night of culinary delights as the restaurant’s own celebrity chefs Cindy Hutson and Sara Mair (Bravo’s Top Chef Miami contestant) welcome television magnet Spike Mendelsohn and Certified Angus Beef Corporate Chef Scott Popovic.  

Expect a menu reflecting Ortanique’s signature Cuisine of the Sun as local fare is backlit with Fantinel wines.
