Victorious Christian Living theme of church convention

The 78th Annual Convention of the Church of God Chapel in the Cayman Islands will be held through 27 February at the Chapel on Walker’s Road and Academy Way.

The theme for the Convention is Keys to Victorious Christian Living with a basis in scripture found in Acts 2:41-42. The five senior pastors of the Church of God Chapel congregations in the Cayman Islands – Alson Ebanks, Tom French, Stanwyck Myles, Ellen Peguero and Winston Rose – will share these important keys to encourage, equip and energise the churches and the Christian community in the Cayman Islands.

Each year this event has been a time of challenge, a time of worship, a time of repentance, forgiveness and new beginnings and a time of learning from God’s word to better equip us to be the children of God. The whole community is invited to join in this time of praise and inspired preaching and teaching on the practical aspects of being victorious as a Christian in this world of turmoil, chaos and unbelief.

The kick-off event for the convention as a youth rally Friday night at the Sanctuary of the Church of God Chapel, Walker’s Road.

Latoya Francis, senior finance administrator for a local business and member of the Church of God Chapel in Frank Sound shared her message of Keys to Victorious Christian Living for youth. Latoya has experienced a life of service for the Lord in parts of Africa and Jamaica and is passionate about youth learning to live out God’s plan for their lives. Her life theme is that she is “eternally thankful to the One who saved me from myself….. Jesus Christ of Nazareth! Everything that I am and hope to become rests on this one fact!”

Evening services will be held nightly at 7.30 through Wednesday, 27 February. The Triple C School worship team and band and choir will participate Wednesday night.

Realising that Christians experience the challenges of life like everyone else, the Church of God Chapel in the Cayman Islands has a message for its members and the community at large that we do not need to live defeated lives. The Lord has promised and will fulfil and in the midst of the trials of life there can be calm, peace, and victory if we but remember that all of heaven’s resources are at our disposal. All are invited to come out to learn more about living a victorious Christian life.
