Those interested in the person behind the visionary paintings, will have the chance to get to know more about Miss Lassie (Gladwyn K Bush) this Thursday, 14 March.
A special talk, titled “Getting to Know Miss Lassie”, hosted by the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands, will bring together some of the late Miss Lassie’s friends and family, for an informal chat about the lady who, following a vision when she was already in her 60s, was inspired to pick up a paintbrush for the first time in her life, and painted prolifically from that moment on.
Debbie Van der Bol, Captain Paul Hurlston, John Bodden and Henry Muttoo will share their first-hand accounts of Miss Lassie.
All are welcome to share in these stories and to celebrate Miss Lassie’s life.
The talk takes place in the temporary exhibition area at the National Gallery from 6 to 8pm. The event is free of charge and open to all members of the community.
