Diversity celebrated

Students, educators and the wider community celebrated the diversity of cultures when Prospect Primary School hosted its annual International Day Celebration last weekend.

“It was great success in which 20 countries, including the Cayman Islands, displayed artefacts, showcased their talents and provided samples of their delicacies,” said Principal Gloria Bell.

More than 400 people attended the Parents Teachers Association fundraiser, where SaxonMG and Cayman Airways provided gift certificates toward an insurance policy, as well as two tickets to Miami.

“The annual event allows our students the opportunity to learn, respect and appreciate other cultures, thereby facilitating harmony and tolerance within the school,” Mrs. Bell said.

Recognition of the diversity of cultures in the school is a vital aspect of the International Baccalaureate programme, of which it is a member.
