Westin names sales, marketing director

The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa has announced Marti Trieschmann has been appointed director of sales and marketing.

An inspired professional with more than 20 years of hospitality experience, Ms Trieschmann is responsible for all top line revenue efforts, including the resort’s group sales and marketing teams.

Ms Trieschmann’s arrival is well-timed, as the resort recently unveiled a multimillion dollar renewal project and saw upgrades and additions through all guest rooms, suites, public spaces, meeting facilities, the fitness centre and the island’s largest freshwater swimming pool.

Prior to arriving in Grand Cayman, Trieschmann was the Area Director of Sales & Marketing for the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista, a Walt Disney World Resort, as well as Orlando Vista Hotel. She oversaw all group, leisure and wholesale revenue generation.

It was the latest of many management positions Ms Trieschmann has held over the past two-plus decades, including director of sales and marketing of Star Plaza, a multidimensional property in Merrillville, Indiana.

She also served as area director of sales of LXR Luxury Resorts, which has three luxury properties ranging from 300 to 600 rooms in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; director of sales and marketing of Hilton Indianapolis; and director of sales and marketing of Sheraton Indianapolis Hotel & Suites. She began her career in sales administration at the Dayton/Montgomery County CVB in 1989.

“Marti has an extensive knowledge of our region, a passion for the local community, and brings a strong record of success,” said Morty Valldejuli, area managing director and general manager of Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa. “We’re delighted to have her on board in this role. Marti’s esteemed leadership is crucial as we introduce the renovations to new and returning guests.”

Ms Trieschmann has received frequent recognition for her talents, most recently as “Sales Leader of the Year” for White Lodging Services in 2011.

“I am thrilled to join such a talented and spirited team of hospitality professionals at the resort,” Ms Trieschmann said. “Renowned for its white sand beaches, world-class diving and celebrated culinary scene, Grand Cayman has always been one of my favourite destinations. I look forward to working closely with both the associates at the resort and passionate local community to elevate the redesigned resort experience to a new level.”

In her free time, Ms Trieschmann enjoys golf, travelling, relaxing with her husband poolside and spending time with family.
