The Cayman Islands Department of Commerce and Investment is launching Cayman Entrepreneurship Day on Thursday at the Family Life Centre.
The event is free and open to the public from 9am to 7pm. It will include an exhibition of entrepreneurs’ projects and businesses; technical assistance workshops; and face-to-face meetings with accomplished Cayman-based entrepreneurs.
There will also be a platform for budding entrepreneurs to present products and business ideas to a panel of established business owners, investors and consultants.
The day ends with a cocktail reception and business networking event, with a presentation made by a successful entrepreneur.
The gold sponsor of the event is A.L. Thompson’s. Silver sponsors include Mary Lou’s Fine Wine and Spirits, Davenport Development, RBC Royal Bank, Cayman Enterprise City, Cayman National and Vibe 98.9 FM.
“Congratulations to DCI for hosting a much-needed event. We are proud to be the gold sponsor, and equally proud to be supporters of local businesses, because our success has come in large part from their continuous patronage,” said Al Thompson of A.L. Thompson’s.
“We, too, come from humble beginnings; as a small retail store, we recognise the importance of guidance, advice and support throughout the life of any business.”
The Cayman event is part of World Entrepreneurship 2013.
The Family Life Centre is located off Walkers Road in George Town.
