Music sounds better with your toes in the sand

Calico Jacks is celebrating the power of live music with a very special event this Friday, 12 April.

Budweiser Bands on the Beach features Zipper Envy and Business Time, two up and coming bands based right here in Cayman.

It all kicks off at 9pm with the grunge, progressive rock, indie and alternative stylings of Zipper Envy.

The band was formed in the final months of 2011 and is certainly on the up.

“The Cayman Islands, although small, holds potential for attracting individual talent in
all forms of arts,” they say.

“The melting pot nature of these islands draws in people from all walks of life and because of this it’s easy to find influence from not only the beautiful nature of this Caribbean paradise, but also from the people that call it home.”’

Business Time, meanwhile, comprises Ian Emerson, Dan Sydes, Will Doran, Rich Dyer and Joel Durksen. They are described as a high energy and versatile five-piece band playing a wide mix of pop, rock, R’n’B and dance from the 60s to present day.

The band is a group of accomplished musicians playing guitars, bass, keyboards, drums and singing four-part harmonies all designed to get the party started, we hear.

The event is free, explains our mate Sian Weinzweig of
promoters Epic Day Entertainment and Calico Jacks, and there will be beer bucket specials all night.
