McLeod keeps Sunset’s season bright

Sunset Football Club is flying high right now with both the men’s and women’s teams doing well.

Both are still involved in the FA Cup as well with the women reaching the final thanks to a Fiona McLeod goal in the 62nd minute against Elite on Saturday.

In a bad tempered match at Ed Bush Stadium in West Bay – which saw yellow and red cards given and ended with arguments raging – Sunset deserved the 1-0 victory after having carved out better chances.

In the other semifinal at the same venue, Future won 1-0 against Scholars International, following a Sophie Roberts’ goal in the 13th minute.

The final is on 18 May at the TE McField Annex.

Sunset men’s team are the First Division champions-elect. They play the Premier League’s likeliest champions Bodden Town at the TE McField Annex this Sunday at 7pm in the FA Cup quarterfinals. Academy play George Town in the earlier game.

The other quarterfinals will be played at Ed Bush Stadium. Roma will face Tigers at 5pm, followed by East End against Elite at 7pm.
