Charles Ebanks should be in seventh heaven with his Hog Heaven crew.
The celebrity angler saw his side produce the two biggest dolphin catches in Grand Cayman for the 2013 Kirk Slam fishing tournament. The catches, weighing 32.5 and 33 pounds, were showcased at the Barcadere Marina over the weekend.
Ebanks reeled in the first catch on Saturday with Samara Persaud landing the second on Sunday. The crew earned some $3,000 for their efforts. Their fish would best the likes of Rob Bouliane, who had a 30.5-pound dolphin with Rob Jones and the Strike Force crew and Shadiac McLaughlin, who reeled in a 28.5-pound catch with Nicholas Ebanks and the Miss Michelle guys.
Interestingly, the all-dolphin tournament’s biggest fish was in Cayman Brac. Female angler Argella Conolly had a 38.4-pound catch aboard Escapade, which featured the likes of Stuart Conolly, which resulted in a $5,000 cash prize.
Up next is the Cayman Swordfish Challenge between 19 and 20 April.
