By Rite are the champions in the Division 1 T20 tournament defeating ESSO Tigers by 19 runs.
Coming to the final with a determination unseen for years, By Rite stuck to the plan and produced an exciting performance with bat and ball.
Starting off at a scoring rate of 8 runs an over, Man of the Match Ainsley Hall marshalled his side guiding them safely when the Tigers fought back in the middle overs and then exploding toward the end with 4 fours and 4 sixes. A feature of the match was the hard running of the By Rite batsmen turning ones into twos.
Corey Cato was ESSO’s best bowler with 3 for 29. The Tigers felt confident going into the game having overcome Greenies in the semis.
ESSO lost their top batsman, Darren Cato, in the first over when Kenute Tulloch rolled back the years with the perfect leg cutter for Gregory Smith to take an excellent catch at slips.
Milton Johnson 74 and Alistair Ifill 28 combined well keeping the interest of the ESSO Tigers supporters but there was no stopping By Rite who hope to secure a double with the league championship as well.
