FA Cup semis will be cut and thrust

The only two football matches for the elite teams this weekend are for a place in the FA Cup final next month.

First Division side Roma have had a great season in the lower tier, finishing second to champions Sunset.

Buoyant Roma play cup specialists George Town at the TE McField Annex at 5pm on Sunday.

Keigel “Stamma” Atkinson has been in superlative form for Roma, but he has to get past the likes of centre-back Leighton “Rumpy” Elliott and Miguel Pitta in goal.

Bodden Town are riding high at the top of the Premier table and look likely to win the title ahead of champions Scholars International – providing the youngsters can hold their nerve against the veteran Scholars side in their penultimate match next week.

Bodden Town have the distraction of meeting Elite Sports Club in the other FA Cup semifinal at 7pm.

This is another intriguing tie and sure to keep the large crowd from the earlier game there relishing the drama certain to unfold.

Bodden Town’s key players will be top scorers Dwayne “Gaza” Wright and Alex Belcher, who will mix it with the likes of Elite’s Hank Parchment, Mark Ebanks, Jairo Sanchez, Rene Carter and skipper Abijah Rivers.
