The St. George’s Anglican Church Mothers Union group is hosting a Mother’s Day get-together on Saturday.
The fundraising tea party will be held in the church hall from 3 to 6.30pm, admission is $10.
Celebrating mothers and showing God’s love in a practical way will be celebrated with a teapot display.
Guests will be treated to a viewing of teapots from around the world. Some teapots are from the collections of congregants and have been in their possession for decades and unique teapots from Out of the Bluz in Galleria Plaza operated by Cherita Shetty.
Ms Shetty will be on hand to describe and answer questions about the teas, which will be displayed alongside the teapots. Exotic teas range from chocolate mint to elegant gender blends.
Another feature of the event will be a fashion show by Allee Designer Fashion Boutique, owned by Angella Meggs. Models will show the latest fashion trends in ladies’ clothing, together with hats for all occasions.
Other entertainment will include a kids corner, magic show, Dutch auction, poems, instrumental and vocal music and dances.
Proceeds from the tea party will help fund the Mothers’ Union Parenting Programme and other community projects. Contact the St. George’s Anglican for more information.
