Batabano Fun Run a success

On Sunday, 27 April, while many still lay sleeping, a committed group of Cayman islanders, both local and visitors, met at Smith Cove for a common goal – to run or walk 5 kilometres in order to help Cayman Islands Hospital purchase a new kidney dialysis machine.

“It was a wonderful morning to be out on the road and those who took part shared in a bounty of raffle prizes generously donated by LIME, Dolphin Cove, Hi Tide, Winners Circle Sports, the Cayman Islands government’s Department of Sports, World Gym and Island Cleaners,” said Maria Kennedy. “Thanks to the generous support of Subway, who provided breakfast sandwiches, Foster’s, who provided oranges, and Cayman Distributors, who provided water the runners and walkers were well refreshed after successfully completing the course.

“Governor Duncan Taylor and the Deputy Governor Franz Manderson looked splendid on the course and it was a pleasure to have them among the distinguished field; their support was gratefully appreciated.”
