The Cowboy Town Stables programme is the perfect combination of qualified instructors, specially-trained horses and first-rate services to create an exciting and engaging atmosphere where campers can advance and expand their horsemanship and riding skills while nurturing new and old friendships.
From 2 July through 23 August, Cowboy Town Stables will offer eight one-week camps. During each session, a small group of campers can participate in riding whether on the horse or as leaders and side walkers, where able; learn horse care including anatomy, behaviour and nutrition; create arts and crafts; and maybe even paint a horse. Lessons and activities are personalised to ensure that each camper excels, whether a young beginner or more advanced.
Each camp session runs from Monday to Friday starting at 9am and ending at 2pm. One week of summer camp is $360 per camper. There is a 5 per cent discount available when one month of sessions is booked and one week of free fun, learning and creating is on offer when six weeks are booked. Scholarships are available for special needs campers in need of financial assistance.
The summer camp is just one element of Cowboy Town Stables’ service offering, where the goal is to build versatile riders with well-rounded horsemanship skills and the specialty is therapeutic horsemanship. The certified instructors are members of nine industry organisations including the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International and the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association. These memberships signal that the instructors at Cowboy Town Stables are qualified to help people, particularly those with special needs, discover their full potential. Horsemanship and basic horse care offer a range of positively life-changing benefits including improved balance, strength, coordination, and posture; enhanced independence; and, increased concentration and self-confidence. In addition to therapeutic horsemanship lessons and camps, Cowboy Town Stables also offers riding and horsemanship lessons, educational visits and field trips, birthday parties, weddings, stallion service, and performance quarter horse sales.
Cowboy Town Stables operates its high-quality, safe programmes and camps with the support and kindness of community volunteers. Volunteers work with the instructors to build a team that assists with lessons, maintains the facility, helps care for the horses, or provides additional supporting tasks. The volunteers enjoy personal satisfaction, fulfilment and growth while being a crucial part of rider and camper success.
