DMS Broadcasting and BAF General Insurance are inviting women and brave men to don their heels and join in the fun at the second annual Diva Dash.
The 60-metre, high heel race, is slated for Thursday, 20 June, on Market Street, Camana Bay, and will raise money for the National Council of Voluntary Organisation’s project to purchase new shoes for children at the Nadine Andreas Foster Home.
All heels must have a 3-inch heel or higher, and no wedges are allowed. The fastest diva will win a $500 cash prize.
For the ladies not blessed with the best balance, there is an opportunity to dash for prizes in any shoe wear you desire. At the finish line, there will be a “balloon pop” with multiple prizes up for grabs, including spa days and fashion vouchers.
“Guests are encouraged to dress up to the nines, don their highest heels and have a little laugh at their own expense,” says Jade Whitelaw, dms promotions coordinator. “There will be additional prizes for the most stylish outfit, best shoes and the ultimate tumble so if you choose not to race, you’re still in for a great night, including the chance to Skype Chat with X107.1’s astrologer.”
The NCVO will be on site selling ribbon to secure shoes in place and raffle tickets for more prizes.
The evening kicks off at 5.30pm with race registration and cocktails. Tickets are $25, which includes hors d’oeuvres and a cocktail from Abacus.
Tickets can be purchased from the offices of DMS Broadcasting on Godfrey Nixon Way or at Abacus Restaurant.
