Elderly tourist dies on LC dive

A 73-year-old American tourist died Friday following a dive off Little Cayman.

About 12.25pm Friday, James Klein, an Erlanger, Kentucky resident who was on an organised boat dive at Bloody Bay Wall, got into
difficulty while ascending and lost consciousness.

He was transported to shore on the dive boat, while crew carried out CPR, the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service said.

A nurse met the boat at Salt Rock dock. She continued CPR as the man was taken to the local clinic in the dive company’s vehicle and was pronounced dead on arrival.

The man was on holiday in Little Cayman with his wife.

There would appear to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, police said.
