The public bus depot in downtown George Town will be opened for longer hours during the week, according to a government announcement published last week.
The public buses, which run to all districts in Grand Cayman, will be accessible from the depot between the hours of 7am and 7pm, Monday through Friday. On Saturday, the depot will be open between 8.30am and 5pm.
The only exception will be the last Friday of each month, when the bus depot will be open until 9pm for those wishing to attend the “Culture Shock” gathering in George Town and who need to use public transportation. According to government officials, the new hours represent an expansion of existing bus depot opening hours.
The previous bus depot hours were Monday through Friday, 7am to 6pm. In addition, the bus depot was not open on Saturdays.
