Doghouse kicking in top form

Football enthusiasts continue to battle hard at Kings Sports Centre.

Kings just completed the fourth and fifth week of play in its men’s five-a-side football league. Transformers beat Dominion Devils, 6-0, with two goals from Chris Douglas and Cohen Daly and Kevin Moore and Norval Barette each scored once. Dominion took quite a hammering though they were a strong team with a 2-2 record up to that point but Transformers dominated from start to finish.

PwC beat KPMG, 6-3, as Richard Crozier (two goals) led the winners, who had goals from Ben Hooper, Ricardo Agrella, Simon Patterson and Dave Lilley. The scorers for KPMG were Ryan Eisen Hammer, Greg Meaker and Grant Smith. PwC was the superior team, able to control the pace of the game and build a very strong attack. KPMG is working hard to build a good rhythm and chemistry.

CML crushed Deloitte, 7-1. Kevin Gillette and Des Harris (two goals each) led the scoring ahead of Ambrose Guilfoyle, Darnell Hanley and Graham Blyth. John Marrs had Deloitte’s only score. The result was not a big surprise as CML are the defending champions of the social league. Deloitte walked in underestimating CML and the results showed that mind-set cost them.

Cayman Free Press Buzz Crusaders clobbered KPMG II, 7-0. Forde Pearson had a hat-trick, Kris Pearson produced two goals and Kyle Santamaria and Bobby Hydes got on the score sheet. The Crusaders will always be the Crusaders, a dominate team who play aggressively and always go for the win. KPMG II just couldn’t gather their bearings against them and CFP had a field day.

In week five, Dominion Devils beat KPMG II, 3-0. Rob Patraulea (two goals) and Leigh Hipkins were the goal scorers. The Devils again showed their strength by not allowing a goal.

Deloitte defeated Transformers, 4-1. The winners featured scores from Dan Lowry, Matthew Fong, David Foster and Cory Zinn while Lance Myles had the only goal for the prison team. After underestimating CML, Deloitte came prepared to show Transformers some muscle. Deloitte wasn’t dominating the game, but they were able to do enough to make a difference and score.

PwC clipped CFP Buzz Crusaders, 4-3. Ricardo Agrella had a hat-trick for the winners with Ben Hooper adding the other score. CFP featured goals from Kyle Santamaria, Bobby Hydes and Dave McLaughlin.

PwC had an impressive win against the almighty Crusaders. For the majority of the game, CFP had the lead but PwC’s consistent pressure produced a comeback victory and a reminder for CFP that every giant has a weakness.

Doghouse Devils beat PwC, 4-2. Shane Delaney, William Foster and James Plowright were among the scorers for the winners. Ben Hooper and Richard Crozier had the goals for PwC. Doghouse are the only undefeated team thus far and they came, they saw and they conquered.

CFP crushed KPMG, 7-3. Kyle Santamaria, Forde Pearson and Dave McLaughlin all scored twice for CFP with the other goal coming from Thomas Bush. Grant Wilkinson was among the KPMG scorers. After conceding a unexpected lost against PWC, CFP regained composure, came together and showed KPMG what team work can do.
