Chuggers set to climb over Tower as sluggers swing for the fences

Adult coed softball enthusiasts continue to take the field.

The Cayman Islands Little League Association is into week four of its 12-week 2013 Fall Adult Coed Softball League at the Field of Dreams facility.

On Monday, 19 August, Dart takes on the Fluff and Fold Home Gas Misfits on field three and the Coors Light Chuggers battle Tower Marketing on field four. Dart won its first two games of the season while Misfits, 1-2, got their first win last week. Coors Light and Tower are both fighting for prominence in the top flight.

On Tuesday, 20 August, Rhino Rebar faces Al La Kebab Hitmen on field three while KPMG A challenges A.L. Thompson’s Hammers on field four. Rhino won its first games in the top division with KPMG and the Hammers playing catch-up.

Field three sees Saxon G-Force battle Deloitte on Wednesday, 21 August, while PwC B challenge Rackham Crabbies on field three. Saxon have started out winless at 0-3 and PwC won its first two matches.

Saxon are in action again on Thursday, 22 August, this time against Master Batters on field three. Meanwhile, BritCay Premiums battle Phoenix Hard Hats on field four.

All of those matches are scheduled for 8pm. The regular season continues until 17 October, with the playoffs wrapping up on 13 November.

Early focus is on last season’s top teams. The winter league ended in May and produced four champions in A League winners KPMG, B League title holders Coors Light, C League champs PwC and D League frontrunners Misfits.

Most of those teams have moved up a division and will be challenged to repeat their success in a smaller league. There are a total of 16 squads this season, with five in the A League, seven in the B League and four in the C League.
