Sluggers brace for home stretch

Postseason seeding will be on the minds of many coed softball players.

The 2013 Fall Adult Coed Softball League is entering the 10th week of its 12-week season at the Field of Dreams facility. Matches are taking place throughout the week across three divisions. The drama intensifies tonight at 8 p.m.

On field three, Saxon G-Force takes on the Master Batters in an inter-league contest, while Dart faces the Fluff and Fold Home Gas Misfits on field four.

Saxon, which boasts sluggers like Kevin Morales, is aiming to end the season with a winning record as they look set to end up third in the C League. G-Force, at 3-5-1, is coming off a 10-9 loss to the 5-3 UBS Aces, which features players such as Karl Preuss.

Both Saxon and UBS are looking up to team Dart in the standings, who had a 5-3 record heading into last week. The Misfits, meanwhile, have struggled at 0-7-1. Krystle Barrett is among the players helping Dart lead the pack while Misfits boast talents like Hemant Balgobin.

The rest of the standings are tighter. Heading into last week, Leon Cheung and PwC B had a slim lead atop the B League ahead of the Al La Kebab Hitmen, BritCay Premiums, Phoenix Hard Hats, Master Batters, Rackam’s Crabbies and Deloitte.

In the A League, Baron Solomon and the Tower Titans have been all the rage as they lead reigning champions KPMG A, Rhino Rebar, Coors Light Chuggers and A.L. Thompson’s Hammers.

The regular season is expected to end on Oct. 17 with the playoffs beginning on Oct. 21.

At this time, the association reminds the public of its annual general meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Field of Dreams Clubhouse. A major talking point will be the resurfacing of the fields.
