Gladys Ernestine Parsons Cranston, born Sept. 13, 1928, in George Town, Grand Cayman, peacefully entered Heaven on Oct. 13, 2013, at age 85, at her loving home in Belle Chasse, Louisiana.
Mrs. Cranston was preceded in death by her parents, Faith Brandon Parsons and Malcolm Leaton Parsons; her husband, Robert Elmon Cranston; and siblings Mervin Parsons and Leta Parsons. She was the devoted mother of two loving sons and daughters-in-law, Dewey Cranston (Nancy), and Donovan Cranston (Nichole); the grandmother of Brandi Cranston, Brittany Cranston, Mark Bertrand, Chloe Cranston, Chasse Cranston and Grace Cranston; and the great-grandmother of Jacob Throgmorton, Nicolas Throgmorton, Nealie Arnold and Leland Landers. She is also survived by siblings Thrilee Murray, Margaret-Ann Scott, Sharon Armstrong Mack Parsons, Carlston Parsons and other relatives and friends.
She was loved by many and will be forever remembered as a loyal, devoted Christian.
She will be laid to rest during a memorial service at Clark-Ducote Memorial Chapel, 9611 Belle Chasse Highway, Belle Chasse, on Thursday, Oct. 17. Interment to follow at Westlawn Memorial Cemetery, 1225 Whitney Ave., Gretna, Louisiana.
