Carols, candlelight event benefits St. Ignatius church and school

St. Ignatius is hosting its Christmas carol and candlelight service to ring in the Yuletide season.

The annual fundraiser will feature readings for the season, carols, bands, choirs and Christmas lights in the school’s courtyard at 7 p.m. Dec. 18.

Proceeds will go toward the school and the church. The church will invest funds toward facilities improvements in Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac.

A portion of the proceeds will also go to the scholarship fund, which provides tuition assistance for families who are unable to afford full school fees, and a donation will be made to a local charity.

A number of prizes will be given away, including cash, Cayman Airways travel vouchers valued at US$300 each and $50 gift certificates, compliments ofLuca and Ragazzi restaurants.

Tickets cost $25 and are available at the school, church offices, parents, students, and church members. Tickets are also on sale at several businesses, venues such as Petique, Island Cleaners, Optical Outlook, Treats Restaurant, Rubis Walkers Road, Mike’s Ice and major supermarkets.

Ticket holders need not be present to win; winners will be notified by phone Dec. 18-19. Prize drawing is audited by KPMG and full results will be posted on the school website and the church website
