She has a passion for recognizing the achievements of the Cayman Islands’ youth, which led her to jump-start the Youth Community Excellence Award program in 2008. The program highlights the work of young voluntary workers in the local community.

Ms McGaw also volunteers with the Cayman Believers Ministries, and often delivers food to disadvantaged residents.

She is a member of the Rotaract Club of Grand Cayman and recently helped raise $4,500 to purchase school supplies for children in need.

A human resources administrator and coordinator at Ernst and Young, Ms McGaw is known for her leadership skills, positive outlook and innovative thinking. As a new member to the team, she created a corporate social responsibility program.

“My intent was to encourage my colleagues to get involved with this beloved island,” she said.

The Proud of Them initiative recognizes the positive achievements of young people ages 10 to 25.

Through a public nomination process, individuals are honored in the categories of academics, careers, business, sports, culture or community service.

Each young person selected will be featured for six months at a time on billboards established across the Cayman Islands, and will also receive a certificate and $500.
