Webb AIDS award

CONCACAF President Jeffrey Webb was honored at a gala dinner during the fourth Pan-African Youth Leadership Summit in Dakar, Senegal, on Wednesday.

Webb, who is also the president of the Cayman Islands Football Association, was recognized by the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) with its 2013 Protect the Goal Special Award for the Diaspora for his exceptional work in using sport to advocate for social development.

UNAIDS presents this recognition to individuals from the African diaspora whose contribution to promoting social good through sport has been exemplary.

Webb, 49, was in Cayman last week for the early matches of the Women’s Under-20 CONCACAF championship at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex.
