The Caymanian Compass confirmed Monday that Austin Harris, 41, had been arrested by police in connection with an assault on a female victim.
He has not been charged in connection with the case. Mr. Harris offered no comment when contacted for a response Monday.
According to a statement released by the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, which did not identify Mr. Harris by name, the incident that led to his arrest occurred late Sunday.
“The RCIPS can confirm that West [Bay] police officers are investigating a report of an assault and damage to property that occurred at a private residence at Governors Harbour [Sunday] night involving a 41-year-old Caymanian male who resides in the George Town area and a female victim.”
The report was made to the RCIPS just after 10 p.m. Sunday.
The 41-year-old, later confirmed to be Mr. Harris, was arrested at the George Town Police Station for assault and damage to property. He has been bailed to reappear at the police station Tuesday.
Hurley’s Broadcasting owner Randy Merren said in a statement that Mr. Harris will remain on suspension “until the issue is resolved.”
Mr. Merren said he was “disappointed” to have to take such a step, but indicated that former “Crosstalk” host Ellio Solomon had agreed to step into Mr. Harris’s role and assist show co-host Gilbert McLean.
Mr. Solomon was due to start on Tuesday.

We all have sinned and done something wrong in our lives, even or families and our friends, and we do not know what will happen to any of us tomorrow. This is not to support or condemn Austin, but to say be patient when something happens to a brother and lift him up. What would Jesus do.
