UCCI hosts debate

The University College of the Cayman Islands is holding a two-day conference on a widespread range of key issues affecting the Caribbean and one of them is on morality and ethics in sport in Cayman.

On Thursday, there will be speakers on the topic “Cayman Sport: From Institutions to Morality and Ethics,” including Donald McLean, president of the Cayman Islands Olympic Committee, Osbourne Bodden, minister of sports, Jeffrey Webb, president of CONCACAF, and Dalton Watler, president of the Cayman Islands Athletic Association.

Watler said: “My presentation is about Cayman Islands athletic sport performances from an ethical standpoint, why we are not winning games.

“The winning mind-set is based on performances from technical, tactical and psychological preparation. All these components give the athletes the tools to compete and perform at their best, and I talk about their ethics around it.”
