Scottie loved Gunners misfiring

Chelsea fans the world over are still basking in the satisfaction of demolishing arch-rivals Arsenal 6-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, and for a Caymanian and his 4-year-old son, it was the most exciting result so far this season.

Kemar “Scottie” Scott and little Kaelan watched avidly as Jose Mourinho’s side popped goal after goal in and destroyed Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger’s hopes of a first victory against Chelsea in 11 attempts in his 1,000th match in charge of the Gunners. But the dream ending quickly became a nightmare.

A distraught Wenger canceled his press conference ahead of Tuesday’s game with Swansea after acknowledging he remains puzzled by the Chelsea destruction.

Arsenal’s results are poor against the other top teams this season. They were beaten 3-6 by Manchester City earlier this season and 1-5 by Liverpool when they were four down inside 20 minutes.

“My expectations were that we were going to win by two or three goals, but the result was even better than that,” Scott said. “I was super confident, especially as Mourinho has never lost a game at Stamford Bridge. It was a great game and we demolished them.”

Scott joked that “it seemed that they had two goalkeepers,” referring to the red card incident when Kieran Gibbs was sent off for handling, although the culprit was actually Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

“I’m now looking forward to us winning the Premier League although it will be hard,” Scott said. “Manchester City still have two games in hand so we just have to look forward to winning the games we have and not have to depend on results by other teams.”

Chelsea has drawn Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, a relatively easy draw. But to win it there are still the likes of champions Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona to negotiate.

“I think we have a chance in the Champions League and I’m looking forward to us winning it as well,” Scott said.

He has watched every Chelsea game on TV this season and likes the way Mourinho has settled back in to the club he left mysteriously seven years ago.

“To improve we really need a forward,” added Scott. “Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto’o, Demba Ba need to be replaced. Eto’o has found his form, but Torres is not stepping up. The World Cup is coming up and Torres needs to find that form to play for Spain.”

Scott is a center back and right back for Scholars International and even at 26 still hopes to be scouted for a pro career – preferably by Chelsea.
