Formula 1 Fans of the Cayman Islands are all set to watch the second race of the season, which takes place in Malaysia on Sunday.
Mercedes supporters had the biggest smiles after the opener two weeks ago, when Nico Rosberg won the Australian grand prix. The race is screened at the new club location of PD’s in Galleria Plaza.
The F1 Club always meets on race day at 9 a.m. to watch a time-delayed TV screening and raise money for a local charity. The first event raised $210 for Cayman HospiceCare, which will benefit again this time. PD’s new owner Brad Alexander and his staff made the Formula 1 of the Cayman Islands feel welcome, said club organizer Danny Roach. More than 50 attended and many had breakfast too.
Members make a donation of $2 minimum and are entered for free door prizes, which included gift cards from Automotive Art and Ragazzi restaurant, gift packs from DHL Courier, a gas card from RUBIS, and a grand prize of one month of unlimited yoga and exercise classes at Flow Therapeutic Movement.
