Bodden Town back on top after rampage

Bodden Town returned to the top of the Premier League for the first time this season with a resounding 9-2 thumping of North Side on Tuesday night.

Unbeaten Bodden Town looks set to retain the title as the season winds up. Hat-tricks by Theron Wood and Ricoh Brown were the main BT contributions, plus goals by Tevon Levien, Karl Solomon and Andra Allen.

Previous leaders George Town drew 2-2 with Elite. Dwayne “Gaza” Wright got both Elite goals, and Miguel Simms hit a brace too for George Town.

Cayman Athletic has struggled to score this season but found the net easily against Sunset at the TE McField Annex on Sunday, winning 6-1.

David “Chunky” Connolly hit a hat-trick, Jerronie McLean got a brace and Nigel Solomon notched the others for Athletic. Sunset’s strike came from Timothy Edwards.

Scholars International beat Academy 2-1 thanks to a brace by captain Oneil Taylor, the second a penalty three minutes from time. A Jermaine “Plumber” Haughton own goal was the sole Academy score.

This weekend at the North Side playing field, Bodden Town plays Cayman Athletic at 5 p.m. and North Side takes on Academy at 7 p.m.

At the TE McField Annex, Sunset faces George Town in the early game before Scholars go up against Elite.
