Athletic surprise Bodden Town

Academy’s Jamiel White hit a hat-trick but North Side showed their resilience to earn a 4-4 draw in the latest Cayman Islands Football Association Premier League games on Sunday.

White scored in the 10th, 43rd and 57th minutes, while team-mate Ernie Jaques (14th) was also on target.

Academy went to the break with a 3-0 lead but North Side fought back late in the second half, scoring all four of their goals in the final half hour.

Ronald Davis (63rd, 90th), Gutton King (75th) and Dwayne Wilson (88th) earned a share of the points.

The drawn result broke North Side’s streak of four straight defeats and was Academy’s second draw in five match ups.

Three points separate Academy (10) and North Side at the bottom of the standings.

Cayman Athletic produced the surprise result of week 18, securing a 2-2 draw with league leaders Bodden Town.

Ricoh Brown (18th) continued his hot scoring form, hitting his 12th of the season to open BT’s account.

Jamaal Seymour equalized for Athletic in the 39th minutes and on the stroke of half-time Jerronie McLean gave Athletic the lead. Bodden Town equalized through Juwan Ebanks (65th) to squash any plans of an upset. BT lead the league with 42 points while Cayman Athletic Sports Club are sixth with 16.

Sunset held title chasing George Town to a 1-1 draw.

George Town’s prolific Tex Whitelocke opened the scoring in the 25th before Darien Montague equalized in the 86th.

With three weeks left in the season, George Town are five points off BT. The top two teams meet in a top of the table clash on Sunday at BT’s Office.

Scholars International were the only outright winners, topping West Bay rivals Elite 1-0. Ziecko Herrera’s late goal gave his side the victory.

Scholars have been brilliant, winning all their last five starts while depleted Elite have stumbled to four draws and a loss in their last five matches.
