Three teenage males have been arrested in connection with an alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl, according to a statement from the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service.
The incident occurred sometime between 8 p.m. Saturday, May 3 and 1 a.m. Sunday May 4, police noted.
According to a police statement on the matter, the report of the rape did not occur until May 7.
“The incident reportedly occurred on the night of Saturday, May 3, 2014 in a car park on the waterfront at George Town,” the RCIPS statement read. “The victim was a 16-year-old girl. “Three males, all aged 17 years, have been arrested and are currently on police bail while enquiries continue.”
None of the teens were charged with any crime as of press time Monday.
It was understood that the suspects and the female victim all attend the same high school on Grand Cayman. The Cayman Compass contacted officials with the school Monday, who indicated they were still trying to obtain information about the incident.
