Flashy Nation run will attract Spider-Man

Flashy Nation is a group of young Caymanians who formed to inspire each other to achieve all their sporting ambitions and to encourage others to pursue their sporting dreams.

They have organized their second annual New Day 5k run/walk and proceeds will go to the Department of Children and Family Services.

It is on Sunday Jul. 6 with the slogan of again “giving hope, inspiration and encouragement to the youth.”

It starts at 7 a.m. at Holiday Inn in Safehaven with a loop starting and finishing at the same place. There will be a short kids race at 7:45 a.m. and each child running will receive a gift bag prize.

All Flashy Nation members will be racing as their favorite character, such as Spider-Man and Superman.

Entrants are encouraged to dress in their favorite character or a kids favorite.

The race entry fee is $10 for early registration at Anytime Fitness with Kendall Ebanks or $15 on the day of the event.

The first 25 participants to register will receive a custom designed commemorative Flashy Nation T-shirt.

Awards will be presented to the top three male, top three female finishers, top three teens and also for the best dressed character running. Random prizes will also be given out.

Timing and rank will be recorded by Phoenix Athletic and will be posted on www.caymanactive.com and www.flashynation.weebly.com.
