The Flowers One Mile Sea Swim is into its 22nd year and to celebrate the world’s richest event of its kind, there are 40 airline tickets to 22 destinations on offer in random prizes.
Tickets to places like Rio de Janeiro, Geneva, London, Toronto, New York, Las Vegas, Dublin and Paris are to be had. There are numerous other random prizes too, including restaurant meals, staycaytions, smartphones and gift vouchers.
This year’s charity is again the Feed our Future program, which provides hot, healthy lunches for local school children in need.
Sea swim organizer Dara Flowers-Burke said, “We are honored to have Feed Our Future on board for the third year as this is such a noteworthy cause.”
The Flowers One Mile Sea Swim is on Saturday, June 14, starting at the Ritz-Carlton and finishing at Royal Palms. Pre-registration can be done on www.flowersseaswim.com or at the Flowers Block offices in Industrial Park in George Town.

The Cayman Islands Cancer Society is also attempting to break a Guinness world record for the most simultaneous sunscreen applications at the Flowers Swim. There is no fee to participate in the world record attempt so swimmers, spectators, walkers and visitors are all welcome to join the fun after the swim and before the prizes. Sunscreen will be provided courtesy of Ocean Potion.
