Bodden Town added another title to their impressive resume this season by defeating Academy Sports Club 3-1 in the Under- 23 men’s championship game.
Goals from Wesley Robinson (36th minute), Kareem James (44th), Alfredo Cardoza (57th) sealed the victory at the TE McField Annex on Sunday.
Academy offered a late fight back with a goal from captain Rhon Royer (79th) but Bodden Town were untroubled.
Robinson said, “We put in the hard work and dedication all season long, every match, every training session and it has paid off.”
Robinson along with several members of the U-23 side helped the Bodden Town Premier League team retain the title last month and they also won the President’s Cup.
Coached by BT technical director Elbert McLean, they only lost once domestically all season – to 3-0 to Elite in the semi-final of the FA Cup.
BT’s Theron Wood was the season’s top scorer with 29 goals, which was 10 ahead of second placed Dwayne “Gaza” Wright of Elite. At least Elite had the satisfaction of winning the FA Cup, with Wright scoring the only goal, against Roma United.
