James Rodriguez is set for a $60 million move to Real Madrid following his spectacular displays at the World Cup for Colombia.
The only stumbling block is if the Champions League winners can off load Angel Di Maria.
Rodriguez is one of the surprise packages of the World Cup so far scoring five times in four games to help his side to a quarter-final against Brazil on Friday.
Madrid want to start negotiating with his current club Monaco. Madrid’s only problem is that it already has a glittering midfield that includes Gareth Bale and Luka Modric, so selling Di Maria is necessary to accommodate the 22-year-old former Porto player.
Di Maria should have no shortage of offers himself. He was named man of the match in Real’s 4-1 win over rivals Atletico in the Champions League final in Lisbon.
Rodriguez said he is willing to move to Real, picking them ahead of Atletico Madrid and Barcelona of his three Spanish options.
