Elite Sports Club announced their intention to be Cayman’s top Premier League team again at the start of the season and so far are fulfilling that promise after beating champions Bodden Town, who are still without a win after four games.

Bodden Town went ahead at the Ed Bush stadium in West Bay through Kareem James (13th minute). Mark Ebanks (59th), Dwayne “Gaza” Wright (66th) and Paul Rodriguez (88th) put Elite 3-1 and Wesley Robinson pulled one back for Bodden Town in the dying seconds.

That 3-2 win puts Elite at the top of the table with nine points, usurping Roma United who drew 1-1 with Scholars International at the TE McField Annex. James “Paddy” Ebanks put Scholars ahead in the sixth minute and Roma equalized through Ziecko Herrera in the 64th.

David Connolly (6th) hit his fifth goal of the season for Cayman Athletic but they lost 3-1 to Sunset at the Annex. Sunset scorers were Paul Hennessy (32nd), Raheem Robinson (36th pen) and Ian Roberton (52nd). George Town went to Cayman Brac and won comfortably 4-0, goals coming from Tex Whitelocke (10th), Miguel Simms (29th pen), Gioser Gonzalez (55th pen) and Marc Brown (70th pen).

Dwayne “Gaza” Wright got one of Elite’s goals.
