Skydivers to alight on Friday

Andreas “Zulu” Kettner has again arranged for some spectacular sporting entertainment during Pirates Week, this time bringing in two skydivers who are also champion paragliders. Haracio Llorens and Rafael Goberna are sure to wow the crowd.

Kettner, the local Red Bull distributor, is bringing them in to paraglide from a helicopter on Friday at the Royal Palms beach at around 5:30 p.m.

Spaniard Llorens is one of the renowned Safety Acro Team trio who travel the world putting on daring skydiving and paragliding feats.

Llorens holds many records, including the world’s best for infinity tumbling, achieving 568 revolutions after jumping from a helicopter at 19,700 feet above the Mayan ruins of Takalik Abaj in Guatemala two years ago.

Brazilian Goberna started acrobatic paragliding with his father Marcos as a child.

Goberna became Brazil’s youngest pilot at age 12, which earned him a mention in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Like Llorens, he is a multiple champion and record-holder in infinity tumbling and paragliding.
