Dwayne “Gaza” Wright smashed in four goals for Elite Sports Club in their 5-0 drubbing of George Town on Sunday.
That haul brought Wright’s tally for the season to 10 and maintained Elite’s position in second place in the Premier League, one point behind leaders Cayman Athletic.
Mark Ebanks scored the other for Elite who play Bodden Town in the 7 p.m. game at the TE McField Annex on Sunday.
BT return from a grueling trip to New Zealand on Friday and may still be jet lagged against Elite. With only 10 points from seven games played, the reigning champions will want to improve on their fifth place to stand any chance of retaining their title.
Scholars are third in the table with 13 points. They beat Sunset 1-0 thanks to a Thomas Elliot goal in the dying seconds of the game on Sunday.
Scholars play Roma United at Ed Bush at 5 p.m. and in the other early game, at the Annex, Sunset take on Cayman Athletic.
George Town host Cayman Brac at the Annex on Saturday, with kickoff at 8 p.m.
Athletic’s excellent start to the season continued with a 3-2 win over Brac. Athletic’s scorers were Richard Reid, David Connolly (his 11th) and Jamaal Seymour. Nicholas Laurendo and Stephen Tatum hit the target for Brac.
