Police raid nets murder suspect

Police raids in North Side and West Bay over the weekend led to five arrests, including one in connection with two 2011 murders.

In the North Side operation on Sunday, police seized two handguns, 20 rounds of ammunition and about $5,000 in cash. Three men were arrested on suspicion of possessing illegal drugs and firearms. One of the three, a 25-year-old West Bay man, was also arrested in connection with the 2011 murders of Robert Mackford Bush and Preston Ezekiel Rivers in West Bay.

Police said the arrested man had left the Cayman Islands following the murders.

On Friday, the RCIPS Drugs and Serious Crime Task Force raided a home on Eureka Drive in West Bay. Two men were arrested on suspicion of ganja possession, and $3,000 was seized. The two men, ages 52 and 59, have been released on police bail.

  1. Police said the arrested man had left the Cayman Islands following the murders.. So RCIPS knew that he left, but had no idea he returned? Puzzling somewhat. Still, good job on netting a suspect!
