The Cayman International Youth Football Tournament next week has an extra sponsor to add to the many already committed to the annual event.
Caledonian Global Financial Services has made a donation toward the tournament, which includes teams from Swindon Town Academy, Houston Dynamo Academy and two Cayman Islands select teams. It is organized by Grasspiece Promotions.
“This year’s enhanced tournament will be a very exciting and entertaining week for youth football,” said Grasspiece Promotions representative Bruce Sigsworth.
“Thanks to sponsors like Caledonian, we are able to once again showcase Cayman’s talented youngsters against top opposition from the U.K. and U.S.”
The organizers will also host a week-long training camp with skill-building clinics hosted by visiting coaches, team managers and physiotherapists. At least one outstanding player will receive the gift of a one- or two-week training opportunity at Swindon Town’s Academy in England.
“Caledonian is delighted to become a sponsor of one of the premium youth competitions on the Cayman football calendar,” said CEO Kobi Dorenbush.
The activities start with the five-day camp on Feb. 16 guided by Swindon Town Academy’s coaches. The matches are from Feb. 19-21.
