St. Ignatius tees up another scramble fundraiser

The St. Ignatius Golf Scramble is approaching and it looks like it will raise another hefty amount for the Catholic School.

The popular event is on March 27 at the North Sound Golf Club with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The four-person scramble can accommodate up to 88 players in 22 teams and is open to the general public.

Those wishing to play in the scramble should submit a registration form and entry fee of $150 per player or $600 per team as soon as possible.

The entry fee includes green fee, cart rental, chances to win prizes, a buffet meal, and awards presentations after the golf.

The big prize of the day, sponsored by Grant Thornton, is $40,000 if a player scores a hole-in-one at a selected par three.

Team Rubis, comprising Don Gary, Paul Anderton, Stuart Brankin and Eustace Jeffers, won last year.

There will also be competitions for closest to the pin, longest drive, putting champion and best dressed team.

The final deadline to register is March 23, but it is likely that all available spaces will fill up before then, so registering early is advised.

Sponsorships range from $100 to $1,000 and St. Ignatius is appealing for additional sponsors to come forward. Donations of prizes are also welcome.

Anyone wishing to donate prizes, offer sponsorship, or in need of more information, should phone 949-6797 during office hours or email [email protected]. Registration/sponsorship forms are available at
