Godfrey Nixon to close for paving Monday night

Both lanes of Godfrey Nixon Way in George Town will close starting at 7 p.m. Monday for paving, according to the National Roads Authority.

NRA engineer Edison Jackson said the road should reopen fully by Tuesday morning, barring a rainstorm or other unforeseen circumstances.

Partial closure of the road in recent weeks while roadworks were under way has caused some extensive traffic disruption for motorists.

Road crews will have about a week’s worth of work to put the finishing touches on the street, including striping and new sidewalks, Mr. Jackson said. He added that he does not expect the road to require additional closures while crews wrap up the project.
